#2310 - 6.5 Grendel Brass (Small Rifle primer)

The 6.5 Grendel was designed for use in an AR-15 type rifle to offer ballistics similar to the .308 Winchester, with less recoil. This flat shooting round utilizes the inherently accurate, high ballistic coefficient 6.5mm diameter bullet. Its short case length allows it to use some of the longer, heavier match bullets, making this caliber one of the best choices for long range shooting out of an AR. With proper bullet selection, this caliber is no slouch in the field either, being suitable for deer-size game as well as varmint hunting.

Conversion of an AR to 6.5 Grendel requires a new bolt, barrel and magazines to feed the larger diameter cartridge. Several companies offer completed AR uppers and firearms, and reloading dies are readily available. Several manufacturers are now producing bolt action rifles in this caliber, many of which are built on “mini” actions, making for a lightweight rifle with plenty of range.

Our 6.5 Grendel brass uses the standard .080" flash hole as opposed to a few companies that use the .060" flash hole.

Features a 9310 steel bolt, heat treated, hard turned and shot-peened for increased surface strength and durability, and an extractor booster to ensure reliable cycling during rapid semi-auto or full-auto fire. Parts are magnetic particle inspection tested in batches to ensure it’s free from imperfections that can lead to premature failures. Bolt has a .136 head spacing commonly referred to as the type 2 bolt. We also offer a type 1 bolt or 7.62x39 withe a .125 head spacing. Properly staked gas key prevents gas leakage that can lead to short stroking. M16-style carrier on the black phosphate model has full-length shroud for tripping auto sear, so this carrier may be installed on full-auto law enforcement and military rifles. Carrier is chrome lined for smooth cycling and resistance to wear from hot combustion gases for years of dependable service. Available in .223/5.56mm and 6.8mm SPC, 6.5 Grendel, 7.62x39, and .50 Beowulf. .223/5.56mm bolt is made from C 158 Steel. 6.8mm SPC, 6.5 Grendel, 7.62x39, and .50 Beowulf are made from 9310 steel.
